Good Night

Currently LIstening: Sharks Keep Moving - Sailor

It was a good night. Had a lot of fun hanging out with people I haven't seen/hung out with in a while. Even though none of the plans held, today was the most fun I've had in a long time.

Today I found myself in a weird mood while I was on my way to work. I was looking through my iPod as I was driving and came across the band Sharks Keep Moving. On any other day I would've continued my search for something else, but today I felt like I should give them another shot. It worked out in the best way possible. I just hit the first track and kept driving. It was so calming to hear the low drum beat, the chill bass line and smooth guitar. The lack of lyrics was just what I was looking for as well.

Having all the lyrics paint me a picture was great, but being able to just use the music itself to create this image was a different experience. 3-4 minutes out of the 8 present in the song 'Sailor' gave me that along with a much needed calmness that my life lacks right now. I'm sure everyone has that song, or that moment where something you overlooked has given you a different outlook on your current situation. It just made me think about how I should ignore my nagging feelings about how some of my friendships are weakening cause they're not. Tonight was living proof of that and it's a relief to have less on my mind.

Now only Christmas shopping is left.

Crashing. In a Good Way

Currently Listening: Jack's Mannequin - Crashing

So the first semester has come to a close. This is the point where we all shove those books we paid ridiculous amounts of money for in the back of our closet/shelf and take a well deserved breath of fresh air. I can honestly say it's been a good first semester. Slightly worried about a few things to do with school but overall I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Nice

Does anyone remember that episode of that 70's show where they're remembering all the good times they had in Eric's basement? yeah well that inspired to try and remember a place like that. I couldn't name just a single one where all the bad ass things happened but i can name two good ones.

Arman's Game Room/Guest Room
Dude. just overall good times in this room. All those time we were there for your birthday, especially the 10th grade birthday. Even recently over thanksgiving was fun playing Shawn White Snowboarding. That jam session was sick as well. I also remember when Musty and Tyser (sp?) got into a fight over him throwing cards. Mario Party, the tape fiasco with Faizan and Tarin, and TP'ing your game room. Even the constant making fun of your mom, sending Sabine to harass you, and jamming. ALAMO, Rewind and The City Scape XD. That living room has some good times in it.

Deepak's House
Yeah I know im citing an entire house instead of a specific place but this house has seen some stupidity on our part. Recently was the massive lanning and playing frikin dawn of the dead on SC, eating cake around 12 AM, and Srinka cowering in fear of the cat. Also this is where we all started our on-and-off tradition of jamming/creating some music. We've made some pretty cool riffs around your house but we've also recorded some pretty stupid ones haha. I can't forget about playing Final Fantasy VII all of last summer just so we could beat it with everything. Also our 2 hour long fight with Ruby weapon that led to us realizing that we weren't doing shit. Our Krispy Kream trip after that was well deserved haha. can't forget robotics mishaps like destroying that drill and our stupid way of getting that saw cover off. Too many good times to list.

If you guys have anymore good ones i can't remember then let me know. I'm sure i've forgotten a bunch of them.

(Untitled 2)/Now Approaching Midnight

The one thing i want
i lock it away within my veins
it scratches at the walls
it keeps me in chains

honestly, honestly
it takes the life out of me
leaves me dead but
that's where i wanna be

A more comfortable way to belong
i really can't find
this seems to work
this i don't seem to mind

--------------------------------------------------------

The vinyl spins and cracks
The smoke rises in rings
The first three notes echo
As we hear it sing

I pour a drink into a glass
And the beat kicks in
I put on my shoes
I walked out of the kitchen

The cold air stings
But soothes at the same time
I hear the smooth beat
I hear the infectious rhymes

My mind stops to wander
The glass still at my lips
My thoughts drown out the noise
My mind slips

The world still looks so far away
But it seems like it closes in everyday
